On Friday the 8th November the Court of Prince Edmund No. 24 was honoured by a visit from the Provincial Grand Master, RW.Bro. Lionel B Mee, KCAG. The meeting was held at the Masonic Hall, Chichester. Also present was the Deputy Provincial Grand Master, W.Bro. Mark P Donovan, KAG.
After the Court was opened the Provincial Grand Marshal, W.Bro. Chris Eley, was admitted and advised the Worshipful Master that the Provincial Grand Master was in the ante room and demanded admission to the Court. The Provincial Grand Master entered in procession with many Provincial Grand Officers, was presented with the gavel, took the Chair and was saluted with 7 under the direction of the Provincial Grand Marshal. The Provincial Grand Master said how good it was to be visiting the Court of Prince Edmund again, spoke about the recent Grand Court appointments and introduced the Provincial Officers attending.
After the Provincial Grand Master had vacated the Chair, the Worshipful Master announced his intention to rehearse sections of the Instruction Ceremony assisted by the Provincial Grand Master who conducted the Circle of Nine. The candidate was W.Bro. Micky Wiles who was installed into the Chair of the Court of the South Saxons on Monday at Ferring.
The Provincial Grand Master was then invited to present a Grand Court Certificate to W.Bro. Glen Coneley, which he did in a very interesting and informative manner.
After the meeting the Brethren of the Court of Prince Edmund retired to the bar.
We then sat down to a most convivial meal at the Masonic Hall Chichester.
